Dedicated and isolated, with low noise for mic, track, talkback and aux; plus a space heater and humidifier.

The Studio
Inside the Laurel Canyon studio: a squeaky-clean room, filtered air, thriving plants, and a real feeling of life and oxygen in the space.

Flea 49 Next into a Shadow Hills Mono Gama and an Empirical Labs EL8-X Distressor — a flexible vocal chain built around matching the voice.
Roland Juno 60, Yamaha DX-7, and the rest of the keyboard rig, patched together and ready to play.
Logic Pro, SoundToys and FabFilter. Record, edit, tune, comp, mix and master without changing rooms.
High-speed internet, on-site parking, AC and electric heat, filtered air, glass-bottled water, and hot tea.
Parking outside and room to relax in the canyon between takes — an underrated part of the room.

Demos, final vocals, podcasts, audiobooks and voice-over were recorded here, with a musician-engineer's ear on parts, harmonies and comping — not just the red light.
Solo instruments and small ensembles were tracked here, then produced, mixed and mastered in the same room.
The space also hosted music lessons and, more than once, a photoshoot.
// House rules
The room was kept beautiful and clean so artists could feel their absolute best.
No smoking or vaping, no drugs or alcohol, no large groups, and no unkempt food or drink indoors.
